ABOUT US
Quality Care Together
Esperance Aged Care Facility is a non-profit, community based organisation. With the capacity for 90 residents, we provide care and services to older people who can no longer live comfortably independently. We embrace the philosophy of providing high quality care and services to older people to ensure they always feel valued, important and safe living with us.
OUR STORY
The Esperance Aged Care Facility (EACF) journey started in the 1960s, when the Recherché Aged Welfare Committee Inc. formed the Esperance Age Pensioner Fund for the purpose of providing a frail-aged home. After two decades of fundraising, planning and hard work, the Recherché Rotary Hostel was opened, providing residential-style aged care accommodation.
In December 1990 Stafford and Trenfield Houses, extensions to the Hostel, were officially opened, providing additional beds and services. Over the next 30 years, EACF continued to grow, with new wings opened in 1995, 2002 and 2019.
Today, the Facility continues to be managed by a volunteer community Board, and offers a range of services including permanent and respite residential aged care, dementia care, therapy services, health management and social activities.
A history of aged care in Esperance up until 2005 was written and published by Keith O Murray. Copies of 'Against the Odds' are available at the Facility.
